Kia ora,

With Christmas and the New Year fast approaching, we wanted to take a moment to express our gratitude for your hard work and dedication throughout 2025.

It’s been a significant year for Careerforce, and we couldn’t have achieved what we have without your commitment, effort and dedication. Nearly 4000 learners have completed qualifications so far this year, that’s no mean feat for them! Likewise, it doesn’t happen without your support, so thank you.

56,951 unit standards were reported to NZQA this year, totalling 309,380 credits. Equivalent to 353 years of knowledge assessed! (Every credit being equivalent to 10 hours of learning and assessment).

The Moderation and Assessment Practice team has undergone some change recently, but a vibrant and familiar cast of characters remains! In 2026, we will be known as the Quality, Compliance, and Evaluation team.
The Learning Engagement (LEA) whānau will be known as the Workplace Capability team next year and will be joined by our Assessor Operations team.
We’ll settle into our new roles and responsibilities in the new year and look forward to continued support and contact from you all

This year also brought some challenges, but with these also come opportunities.
As we have previously communicated, we are currently preparing for the disestablishment of Te Pūkenga and our imminent transition into the Industry Skills Board.

From 1 January 2026, the following administrative changes will apply:
  • Our new name will be Education, Health and Community Industry Skills Board trading as Careerforce. Our bank account number remains the same, but the account name changes accordingly.
  • All organisational information we hold will transfer to the ISB, with no changes to storage, use, or data security.
  • A new training agreement must be used for new enrolments, with references updated from Te Pūkenga to the ISB.

Everything else continues business as usual, including our enrolment processes, and all learner, assessor and employer functions.

We hope you can take some of the holiday period to rest, recharge, and spend time with family and friends. We look forward to another exciting year ahead in 2026 and thank you again for the exceptional support you provide to your colleagues, your clients, and our learners!

Mā pango mā whero ka oti te mahi - With black and red, the work will be done.

Ka nui te mihi o te ngakau ki a koutou i to mahi me te kaha – A heartfelt thank you for your efforts and resilience throughout the year

Meri Kirihimete from all of us at Careerforce.🎄

Careerforce holiday shutdown period
Careerforce offices will be closed from midday Wednesday, 24 December 2025, and reopening Monday, 5 January 2026.

We look forward to reconnecting with all of our apprentices, trainees, assessors and employers in 2026.
